Universal Mind Control at 2021 World Telekinesis Competition
Today marks the beginning of the World Telekinesis Competition Pandemic Relief Tournament.
In 2012, the last year of competitive play, my team, Universal Mind Control came in 2nd and since then we have been reigning semi-champions.
Please meet the team!
The World Telekinesis Competition is a game in which teams from around the world compete to influence a candle using only the power of the mind. The game begins when a candle is lit at the center of the official game board, and lasts for one hour or until the candle is extinguished—whichever comes first. The goal of the game is to influence the way a candle melts—pushing the wax onto the opponent’s side of the game board. The team who pushes the most wax wins.
The WTC is a chance to test the powers of the mind. Can thoughts and intentions have real impact on things in the world? Does playing together help collect psychic resource? Can telekinesis be thought of as a tool for actual real-world change? If so, then the World Telekinesis Competition is not just a sport but an agent of social transformation, a training ground for minds wanting to make material difference. If the pen is mightier than the sword, then the imagination is yet mightier still—pens don’t write their own ideas, after all.
The World Telekinesis Competition is a project created by the Noxious Sector Arts Collective.
